For Valentine’s Day I place a card with a coupon-book inside
of it in the Camaro behind the steering wheel to surprise Todd. I could tell he forgot to get me
something for valentine's, in his tone of voice, when he called to ask about
dropping off “Crazy Stupid Love” on his way to campus. Around 11am Todd showed up to work with
a card and a potted plant with no blossoms. The card read I don’t know what plant I got you, but when it
blossoms it will be a surprise.
The card was sweet and we went to Texas Road house for lunch. Todd mentioned he hates the government
telling him when to celebrate his love for his wife and prefers to do it on his
own time. Kyle Mumford from work
also tried explaining how Valentine’s Day is a fabricated holiday via Wikipedia
and history.com. Frankly I don’t
really care if it’s a fabricated holiday; any excuses eat candy and share the
love with family and friends is all right with me. Happy Valentine's Day!
